Kaitāia TimeBank and Far North Timebank (whose members are mostly more Mid North) are merging to create Tai Tokerau Timebank! The name change is the perfect opportunity for a new image, so we're running a competition to design a new logo. More info in the next newsletter and another post. For now this site will continue with the Kaitāia TimeBank name and domain, we'll keep you posted as the changes kick in. Current KTB members won't need to do anything to become part of Tai Tokerau Timebank.
So not only will that fill in the geographical gap between those of us in Te Hiku area and our outpost of KTB members in Whāngārei, it gives all timebankers access to a wider spread of services in every sense of the word.
Earlier this year we welcomed the 'Kohukohu Chapter' of KTB on board who are breaking new ground for us as a neighbourhood hub with their own community chest account for local community work, and a local member support person, Jackie Davidson.
We're hoping to get more neighbourhood hubs up and running across the wider rohe. These strengthen local communities and enable you to get to know your fellow timebankers in your immediate area. We've had a number of social events this year in our more outlying areas, do let us know if you'd like us to have one near you!
We've got Jo Sharpe and Di Maxwell in the Mid North who are happy to support timebanking south of the Mangamuka hills, and Geoff Waterhouse in Paihia helping with outreach, especially in the Mid North.
