Getting out more - news and events coming up

Kia ora koutou

I hope those of you who made it either at the farm or at home to the Biodynamics presentation this afternoon enjoyed it - a link to the recording will posted on here soon for those who missed it, or want to go over it again. Hopefully this will be the first of many TTT collaborations with Faiawa Farm. Us trying to cater for those who can get out and those still very much staying home will be the pattern for at least the rest of Level 2. Remember if you are stuck home and need help you can ask timebankers for it! Also, if you're now out and about yourself more often and supporting those who aren't you can claim timecredits from our Community Fund for the helping out that you do.

It has been a busy week for the coordination team. We're making good progress with the Strategic Planning and figuring out our priorities of focus for the coming months. There are soooo many things we could do, but only so many hours in the week to do it in! To enable us to achieve more we'll be looking for timebank members to help us out with a range of tasks - so keep an eye on the Requests for ways in which you can help. We've been learning how to better use our timebank website: you can now contact any of us by clicking on the mail icon in the top toolbar of the web page...

....after which you'll see the box with General Inquiry in it.

See the wee arrow at the right hand end? Click on that and you'll see each of the coordinators, select which one you want and then write your message in the box below. Of course you can still email us the usual way too - our addresses are at the bottom of this!

We're collaborating a lot more with the other Timebanks around the country, and gradually the different timebanks are becoming members of other timebanks to enable cross-timebank trading. So if you join in Wellington Timebank's Meditation with Zoe Zoom sessions you can pay your timecredits to Wellington Timebank on our website! You pick them as the service provider, put 'Meditation with Zoe session' in the description, Yoga/Meditation as the category (under wellness at the bottom of the list). They'll see to the rest!

The new operations manager for Te Pokapū Tiakia Taiao O Te Tai Tokerau Trust whose umbrella we come under is Aaron Fahey. He's based at the EcoCentre in Kaitāia. As ever that role is an evolving one, and this latest iteration includes doing some communications work for all the associated projects of the Trust, which includes: the Community Garden; Plastic Free Kaitāia; Kaitāia Cycle (new cycle pick-up community composting scheme), and ourselves. So hopefully we'll manage to get the word about timebanking out to our local communities more often now. If you have a timebanking story to tell we'd love to hear from you, and we'll give you timecredits for all contributions.

The EcoCentre Kaitāia is now open to the public again, so if you're around do pop in and say hello! I'll be there on Monday afternoons 1-4pm. Paula is waiting for her other life at school to settle down before fixing any regular times to be there. If you're interested in being part of the volunteer team that interacts with public coming in through the doors to buy various zero waste/sustainable lifestyle products, and/or ask questions do get in touch with Aaron at - you will of course earn timecredits for your time there!

The Kaipatiki Eco Hub in Paihia is also open again, and you'll usually find Charlotte there on Wednesdays.

Graeme will be at the Kohukohu Food Day at Te Whare Herera/The Herald Building on Thursday if you'd like to connect with him there. This will be a regular opportunity to meet up with Graeme and other timebankers, contact him for more information.

Greer can regularly be found at Intercept, the clothing rescue/upcycling project in Whāngārei, and Hikurangi Coop - contact her to check when she'll be there as this can vary week to week.
